Cook Time 25 minutes
Servings: 2
Course: Dessert
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • ½ cup 115 g unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup 200 g granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ⅓ cup 35 g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup 65 g all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup 90 g chocolate chips
  • Halloween sprinkles candy eyes, or frosting for decoration

Method

Prepare the Oven and Pan
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it so the brownies release easily after baking.
Mix the Wet Ingredients
  1. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth and glossy. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, then whisk again until everything is fully combined and slightly thickened.
Add the Dry Ingredients
  1. Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Gently mix everything together using a spatula or wooden spoon until just combined. Avoid overmixing, which can make the brownies less tender.
Stir in the Chocolate Chips
  1. Fold the chocolate chips into the batter so they are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
Bake the Brownies
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cool and Decorate
  1. Allow the brownies to cool completely before decorating. Add Halloween sprinkles, candy eyes, or pipe frosting to create spider webs, monsters, or spooky faces.
Slice and Serve
  1. Cut the brownies into squares and arrange them on a plate for a festive Halloween dessert.
